Send a note to Tom Humphries

Since Tom Humphries himself was recently quoted saying,

“Just today – just just today I got 50, (re-emphasizing) 50 emails who support JK!!!!”

We have to prove him and his mailbox wrong with 500+ emails!

Send him an email by 5 p.m. today saying, “I do not support JK as the 9th president and she must resign.” No threats or insults please- we need his vote when he becomes undelusional.

Dear Board of Trustees Members:

It should be clear to you by now that Gallaudet University is in crisis and fighting for its life.  It should also be clear to you that Dr. Jane Fernandes is unable to build bridges and bring us to resolution.

I am a (student, staff member, faculty member, alumnus, family member, friend of Gallaudet).  I support the demands of the Faculty Student Staff and Alumni Coalition (FSSA) that Jane K. Fernandes resign or be removed from office and the search process be reopened, and that there be no reprisals for protesters.

Yours for a united Gallaudet,

If Francisco de Goya (1746–1828) was alive, this is how he would view the Gallaudet situation: Unity for Gallaudet.

This is an imitation of Goya’s work. Tony L. McGregor did a similar drawing in reaction to French occupation of Spain in the early 19th century. Goya himself is deaf as well.

My friend’s poem entitled: The Protest at Gallaudet University

Posted in Gallaudet, poetry by Robs on October 19, 2006

I post a poem written by my friend Shannon Kapp. Hope you enjoy reading!

The Protest at Gallaudet University

The Protest at Gallaudet University,

Flame has been flamed,

You can feel the beat of the people,

Demanded to be heard and seen,

Yelling two demands!

That must be fulfilled.

So many of us,

We want the best of Gallaudet University!!!

Yes, we may be arrested,

Ignored, oppressed or even been lied to.

But our spirit cannot be shattered.

There are so many people

Around the world.

Supporting our protest,

From California to New York,

Even different countries,

As well as Faculty, Staff, Student and Alumni

The protesters may be arrested,

But Administrators forget,

Still, because there are so many people out there supporting,

Our mascot, the Bison!

Bison is meaning of strength and unity.

We are united and expand our strength!

Unity for Gallaudet!

The Spirit lives within us,

That cannot be replaced

Or even removed.

The story lives with us in time without end.

That must be passed to generations to generations.

Representing the true colors inside of Gallaudet.

Our voices will not be erased,

Listen to one voice out there.

Unity for Gallaudet!
